Before the ice hockey world championship took place in Moscow a month ago, Latvian managers had a chance to ask questions to one of the rising stars of Latvian hockey, Kaspars Daugavins, who made his debut in Latvian NT while being 18 years old. How high was your grade in sports subject, while you were still in school?
Mostly 10 (the highest), but once I had 4!
You scored Hattrick in your second NT game. How was it?
It wasn´t the second one, but still - i felt wonderful.

I don´t think it´s possible, but anything can happen.

Till form 10 it was 7.4.

What is the best age for young players to go to play ice hockey overseas?
It´s hard to tell a certain age, you must feel when you are ready. I´d say 15yo, that´s the right age, cause that´s when game gets deeply tactical.

Yeah, I do, but only in summers, and I prefer beer.

How do you worl out your legs? What dop you emphasize - is it bicycle, jumps, body-building?
All you named are important - you do them in pre-season camp.

The most important is not to be tought by elder players. You have to do your thing and listen to your coach in the first place.

Have you ever been on ice with your idol?
Yeah, I´ve played with Sergey Zholtok.

Can you compare Russian and North American leagues. Why do the youngster usually go to AHL instead of Russia?
Not everyone is going overseas. Usually they start they way by going to Sweden, Finland or russia and then they continue their career in North America.
Do you have any goals in your career?
I will try to reach NHL.

What´s the difference between European and North American ice hockey?
Both - Europe and North America it´s mostly offensive, but overseas it´s more aggressive.

Yeah, I´ve had such crisis, but It´s a matter of some hours. I usually have a good sleep and then it´s ok.
